Narrative
FLORENCE, AL – Two people died, and one person sustained injuries Sunday in a two-vehicle crash in south-central Lauderdale County.
The accident occurred around 10 p.m. at the intersection of College Street and Fayette Street, which is north of the Tennessee River in the city of Florence.
Police aren’t yet sure what caused the collision, which involved a car and a motorcycle.
The motorcycle operator, identified as 51-year-old Shannon Thompson, died at the scene of the accident.
The other driver succumbed to her injuries after transport to an area hospital. Authorities identified this victim as 32-year-old Christina Kelley.
Medics transported a passenger from the car to an area hospital with non-critical injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
