Narrative

NEAR TROY, AL – A man was injured, and a 41-year-old lost her life after she crashed her car into a fence and concrete mailbox on Alabama 87 near Troy Sunday. This single-vehicle wreck was reported before 2:30 a.m. Upon arrival, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency declared the driver — Mary Burgans, a Brantley resident — deceased at the scene. First responders transported Burgans’ passenger — an unidentified man also of Burgans — to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery — for treatment of unspecified wounds. Troopers have launched an investigation and have not indicated other details.
