Crash involving charter bus in Greene County hospitalizes 2

GREENE COUNTY, AL – According to ABC3340 News, multiple people were injured and two people were hospitalized following a crash involving a charter bus on I-59 in Greene County on Thursday.

Authorities say the crash took place near mile marker 47 in the southbound lanes of the interstate and involved multiple vehicles. First responders at the scene confirmed that multiple people were ejected from vehicles in the collision, multiple injuries occurred, and that Trauma Communications Center mass casualty protocol was activated at the initial report of the accident.

Two unidentified people sustained serious injuries in the collision and were transported to DCH in Tuscaloosa for treatment. The status of their condition remains unknown at this time.

Law enforcement officials report that the southbound lanes of the interstate were left blocked for about an hour following the crash. Police continue to investigate this incident.
