Narrative

RIVERSIDE, AL – A woman died in a fiery crash on Sunday while fleeing police in southeast St. Clair County.

The incident happened at 12:53 a.m. on Depot Street near Lakeview Circle, which is west of the Coosa River.

Police say that the 19-year-old driver of a 2019 BMW X5, identified as Jennefer L. Arellano-Malonado, crashed into a wall. The BMW then caught fire, and Arellano-Malonado died from injuries sustained in the accident.

There’s no word yet regarding the reason for the police pursuit.
