Narrative
MOBILE CO., AL – A 44-year-old man died Sunday morning from injuries sustained in a head-on crash with a semi along the highway in west-central Mobile County.
Police say that for unknown reasons at 2017 Kia Sportage collided head-on with a 2023 Freightliner Cascadia. After this initial crash, the semi struck a 2020 Ford Edge.
The force of the first collision threw the unrestrained driver of the Kia from his vehicle, and he died at the scene. Authorities identified the victim as Yancy David Baker of Daphne.
It’s unclear if anyone else involved in the accident sustained injuries.
A full investigation is underway.
