Police pursuit ends in fatal crash in Coosa County

COOSA COUNTY, AL – An Alexander City man died last Friday after he tried to evade authorities and crashed his vehicle, AL.com reports.

A man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado down U.S. 280 when authorities attempted to pull him over for a traffic violation. He evaded the traffic stop and led the police on a high-speed chase until the vehicle crashed.

According to Coosa County deputies, his truck veered from the road and crashed into a tree near mile marker 60. The man, a 25-year-old from Alexander City, died at the scene of the wreck.

The Highway Patrol Division with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is currently looking into the cause of the wreck.
