Man charged after single-car accident in Cherokee County

CHEROKEE COUNTY, AL – Authorities arrested a man for driving under the influence after his car crashed on Saturday, Sky 21 reports.

The driver of a 2010 GMC was traveling on Highway 35 when the car departed the road and rolled into a trench. The crash was reported at about 11:45 Saturday, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.

The CCSO, Alabama State Troopers, and local fire and rescue departments arrived at the scene about three miles from Gaylesville.

Police detained the driver and charged him with a DUI.
