BIRMINGHAM, AL – According to CBS42 News, a crash on Interstate 20 just outside Pell City left one man dead on Tuesday morning.
Authorities say the crash took place shortly after 3:00 a.m. near the 155 mile marker on I-20. 40-year-old David D. Weatherspoon was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban when his vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer. The impact caused both vehicles to spin off the road before hitting a median barrier.
Police have confirmed that Weatherspoon was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, was partially ejected from his vehicle, and killed in the impact.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate this incident.
