Fatal car wreck reported near Fort Mitchell

RUSSELL COUNTY, AL – Two drivers were killed on Sunday night after their vehicles collided at an intersection, according to AL.com.

A man was driving along Alabama 208 when his 2020 Nissan Altima crashed into a nearby 2017 Nissan Altima. The impact caused the 2020 Nissan to swerve off the road and crash into a building.

The wreck took place at about 6:12 p.m., at the highway’s intersection with Alabama 165.

Both drivers were pronounced deceased- a 44-year-old man from Utah and a 50-year-old woman from Fort Mitchell. The Utah man was killed at the scene of the crash, while the Fort Mitchell woman died after she was taken to a hospital.

There were two passengers in the 2020 Nissan that were hospitalized for their injuries. It’s unknown if they are in stable condition. The Alabama State Troopers’ investigation is ongoing.
