Narrative
ATHENS, AL – A 19-year-old man died Thursday after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle along a highway in central Limestone County.
The accident happened around 5:44 p.m. on U.S. 72 near Little Elk Road, which is just southeast of Rogersville near Elk River Lodge State Park.
Police say that a 2023 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R motorcycle collided with a 2019 Honda CR-V. It’s not yet clear what caused the the crash.
The crash impact threw the motorcycle operator, identified as Sidney T. Hamilton, for his bike. Authorities pronounced Hamilton deceased at the scene of the accident.
Medics transported the other driver to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
