Narrative

SHELBY COUNTY, AL – According to ABC 33/40 News, a high school senior was killed in an accident in Shelby County on Wednesday night.

The crash was reported around 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Shelby County Road 13 and County Road 52. Authorities say high school senior, Khalia Smith, was driving a vehicle around a curve in the road when she lost control of the car and crashed into multiple trees. She was found to not be wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Smith was killed in the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
