Fatal car wreck claims the lives of two in Lowndes County

LOWNDES COUNTY, AL – Two drivers were pronounced dead yesterday after their SUVs crashed on I-65, according to The Greenville Advocate.

A woman driving a 2002 Ford Expedition was in the wrong lane of I-65 for unknown reasons on Wednesday. She crashed into a man driving a 2010 Hyundai Veracruz at approximately 8:24 p.m.

The collision occurred at the 153-mile marker, near Letohatchee.

The man, a 23-year-old from Missouri City, and the woman, a 52-year-old from Greenville, were both killed at the scene of the accident.

Nothing further is available as the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency continues to investigate.
