OPELIKA, AL – A 28-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his Nissan Sentra, drifted off Lee County 379, and crashed into a stop sign, ditch, and several trees near Opelika Sunday. The collision happened after 2:30 p.m. south of Valley. The force of the crash caused the driver – Nicholas S. Faison – to be thrown from his car, as he did not wear a seatbelt. As a result, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
