Narrative

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL – According to WVTM13 News, a man was killed in a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer on I-22 in Jefferson County on Friday.

Authorities say the accident took place shortly after 12:30 a.m. near Graysville when 30-year-old Ryan Childers was driving a sedan and crashed into an 18-wheel tractor-trailer head-on on the interstate. Both the sedan and the truck caught fire after the collision.

Childers was killed in the impact and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer sustained injuries in the collision and was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment.
