BIRMINGHAM, AL – A man was fatally injured on Saturday after he was hit by a vehicle on I-59, CBS 42 reports.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reports that the man had been in a prior accident with a separate car and had exited his vehicle to talk with the other driver. He was then struck by another car.
The wreck happened near Arkadelphia Road at about 10:37 a.m. Saturday.
The man was taken to UAB Hospital for treatment, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The accident is currently being investigated by the Birmingham Police Department. We will follow the story for more updates.
