Two-car collision claims the life of Birmingham woman

BIRMINGHAM, AL – Emergency responders pronounced one driver deceased yesterday after she was struck by another vehicle, The Trussville Tribune reports.

A woman was driving north on Kilough Drive when a 2000 Ford Mustang struck her Kia Optima. The Mustang was traveling in the opposite direction and crashed into the Kia head-on.

The Kia driver was killed at the site of the accident. The Jefferson County Coroner’s office identified her as a 36-year-old woman from Birmingham. It’s unclear whether the Mustang’s driver was injured.

The investigation is being handled by the Birmingham Police Department. We will be following this story as it develops.
