CALERA, AL – There were significant slowdowns in traffic yesterday after a person was hurt from an accident with a train, ABC 3340 News reports.
The car was struck in the 20th Avenue intersection.
Emergency responders treated the car’s passenger and transported them to a local trauma center. It’s unclear whether they are in stable condition.
The train obstructed four railroad crossings between 17th Avenue and Highway 25 after the crash. Major delays in traffic have been reported in the area as a result. Authorities stated that the train is expected to run again soon.
The Calera Police Department is currently handling the investigation.
