CHEROKEE COUNTY, AL – A portion of a highway was shut down this morning after a car crashed on the side of the road, WEIS Radio reports.
A vehicle was driving along Highway 9 when it swerved off of the road and rolled into a pond. It’s unclear what caused the accident to occur. The driver did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
The wreck occurred at about 4:20 a.m. Friday, near County Road 115.
Highway 9 was shut down for several hours as local crews were on the scene.
The Alabama State Troopers are investigating the wreck.
