One pedestrian killed, one hurt after being struck by vehicle

BIRMINGHAM, AL – A vehicle traveling in east Birmingham struck two pedestrians yesterday, killing one and injuring another, according to AL.com.

One man and one woman were walking across Roebuck Parkway at about 5:57 p.m. when a vehicle struck them.

The wreck happened near the road’s intersection with Gadsden Highway, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reports.

Emergency responders transported the two pedestrians to UAB Hospital for treatment. The female pedestrian, a 36-year-old, was later pronounced deceased by the hospital staff. It is unknown if the man is in stable condition.
