1 killed in two-vehicle collision on Hwy 75

DOUGLAS, AL – WAFF48 reports that a two-vehicle collision on Alabama Highway 75 in Douglas left one man dead on Monday.

Authorities say the crash took place near Irvin Road on Highway 75, just a mile south of Douglas. 63-year-old John Harris Fisher was driving when his vehicle drifted across the center line. 69-year-old Rita Jo Chesser’s vehicle crashed into Fisher’s, killing Fisher in the impact.

First responders say Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene, while Chesser sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police continue to investigate this incident.
